Structural Integration

Structural Integration is a form of manual therapy that focuses on the connective tissue, also known as fascia, in the body with movement as it relates to gravity.

Muscles in their basic for can be likened to a straw. The straw is the connective tissue, the muscle fibers run through it like a liquid. The “straw” is a muscle fiber, and several fibers make a bundle creating muscles as we know them. When we get an injury or adhesion the muscle cannot flow freely through the straw and thats where structural comes in to play. We focus on holding the connective tissues and moving the muscle through it to release the issue.
